ELD
At Easton Arts Academy Elementary Charter School, our English Language Development (ELD) program supports multilingual learners through a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS), providing targeted, individualized instruction to ensure academic and social success.
Students are identified for ELD services through the Home Language Survey during enrollment. Those indicating a language other than English at home are assessed using the WIDA Screener to determine eligibility. Progress is monitored annually with the ACCESS for ELLs assessment, measuring growth in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Instruction, aligned with WIDA English Language Development Standards, is delivered in small group settings to facilitate meaningful language acquisition.
Our ELD program reflects a commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching, fostering a supportive and language-rich environment where every student can thrive.
