Earlier this month we held our winter concert in person for the first time in two years, showcasing our students’ musical talents with a selection of songs for the winter and holiday season. The school’s concert took place on December 16th and featured vocal music and dance from third, fourth, and fifth graders. The annual event has not been performed for a live audience since 2019, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are thrilled that our students had the opportunity to perform for a live audience again,” said Mohamed Hagag, acting Chief Executive Officer of Easton Arts Academy. “The winter concert is a wonderful event, and our students learn so much about self-confidence and working with others while being a part of it. We love sharing what the students have learned with an enthusiastic and supportive audience of friends and family.”

1st grade has been exploring storytelling. We read the story of Mrs.Wishy Washy then retold the story by acting out the different animals. Then students created character hats to do their own character performances in class. 1st graders are also learning about parts of the stage and how to stand on stage so the audience can see them at all times.
3rd grade has been learning about the elements of Drama and practice stage directions by participating in a movement activity around the room. Even our virtual friends are included in the fun and learning!
5th grade is working hard on their mixed media zentangle paintings inspired by Japanese artist Hokusai. Hokusai is best known for his woodblock print series including the iconic print "The Great Wave off Kanagawa." Stay tuned for their finished results!
